Welcome to The London Psychology Clinic
At The London Psychology Clinic, we offer thoughtful, evidence-based support to help you navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence. Our focus is on compassionate care that meets you where you are—supporting your journey toward emotional resilience, self-understanding, and meaningful change.
Support That Meets You Where You Are
Hi, I am Marilena—and I’m glad you’re here. At my practice, the London Psychology Clinic, my team and I offer thoughtful, down-to-earth support to help you navigate whatever’s going on in your life.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or simply unsure of your next step, you’re not alone. Together, we can make sense of what you’re experiencing and find a way forward that feels right for you.
The main areas I work with are depression and anxiety disorders, including OCD, GAD, PTSD, Health anxiety, and phobias. I also work with people facing all sorts of life transitions and emotional challenges—relationship issues, burnout,, family conflict, or just a sense that something isn’t quite working. You don’t need to have a clear label for what’s going on. If you’re here, it probably means you’re ready for something to shift.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practice. But above all, it’s human. I bring warmth, curiosity, and care to every session. I see our relationship as central to the work we do—because real change happens in safe, supportive connection.
If you’re thinking about starting therapy, I know that can be a big and sometimes vulnerable step. My hope is that what you read here gives you a genuine sense of who I am and how I work, so you can decide if it feels like the right fit.
How I Work
I believe therapy works best when it’s both relational and practical. That means building a trusting, authentic connection—and also finding real, usable ways to support change in your life.
The main model I draw from is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) especially when it comes to anxiety and depression, as it is clinically proven to be the most effective approach, something I have also witnessed over my years in clinical practice. However, when appropriate I also adopt a more integrative approach, which means I draw from different psychological approaches depending on what’s most helpful for you.
There’s no one-size-fits-all. I’ll meet you where you are—with flexibility, openness, and a steady presence. We’ll explore patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses that may be holding you back—and start building new ways of being that feel more aligned with who you are.
A Bit About Me
I have origins from Greece and England, both of which I consider my home. Having grown up in Greece, I made the transition to London several years ago and live here with my husband and three children.
My work spans both in the NHS and in private practice settings, and I’ve had the privilege of working with people from many different backgrounds.
I am committed to ongoing learning and reflective practice, and I receive regular supervision to make sure I am offering the best care I can. I also bring my full self to this work—therapy with me won’t feel clinical or detached. Clients often describe me as warm, thoughtful, and gently challenging (in a good way!).
Who I Work With
I work with adults of all ages, backgrounds, and identities. Some of the issues I often support clients with include:
Anxiety and overthinking
Low mood and depression
Relationship or attachment difficulties
Identity, belonging, and cultural transitions
Burnout, life stress, and change
Family patterns and intergenerational dynamics
Many people come to me during a time of transition—whether that’s the beginning of something new, the end of something old, or that uncertain middle space. Whatever’s brought you here, you don’t have to face it alone.
What to Expect
Our first session is an assessment and a chance to get to know each other, explore what’s going on for you, and see if we are a good fit. I offer a warm, confidential space where you can talk freely and feel supported.
Therapy can be short-term or longer-term—we’ll find a pace that works for you and review things as we go. There is no pressure, just a commitment to working together in a way that’s grounded, responsive, and personal.
If you are not sure whether therapy is right for you right now, that’s okay too. You’re very welcome to get in touch for an informal chat.
Final Thoughts
Starting therapy isn’t about “fixing” yourself—it’s about getting curious, building emotional resilience, and creating a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
If you’re ready to take the next step—or even if you are just wondering what that step might be—I would love to hear from you.
Wondering if Therapy Is Right for You?
It’s completely normal to have questions. You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support. Sometimes, just having a space to talk things through—with someone who’s trained to listen—can bring clarity and relief. Therapy offers a chance to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, in a safe and supportive setting. It’s about taking care of your emotional wellbeing—just like you would your physical health.
